John Pule ONZM (1962 -) John Pule is a Niuean artist, novelist and poet resident in Auckland. He has been described as turning the craft of Polynesian tapa cloth making into an art form on canvas. Pule's work becomes a symbolic pictograph. His symbols and imagery relate to pacific cosmology and Christianity and at times are political in their references to the post colonial pacific. His work is highly collectable.
