$3,500.00 $2,800.00

Dame Robin White DNZM (1946-)

Robin White was born in Te Puke and is of Ngāti Awa descent. After a brief career as an art teacher at Mana College, White was able to work full time as an artist when she went to live on the Otago Peninsula. She became a recognised and key figure of the regionalist movement of 20th Century NZ art.

Robin moved to Kiribati, where the different nature of the physical and social environment introduced some changes in the works that she produced from her studio beside the Tarawa lagoon. This triptych is from this period in the Pacific.
