Jos Kivits
Kivits work is described as being in the style Neo-Classical Romantism. He specialises in both landscapes and traditional Dutch still life paintings. His technique of painting is very true to this style with many layers of detailed paint and glaze.
Jos Kivits was born in Eindhoven, the Netherlands in 1945. At an early age he began to paint and with the support of his parents he was taught by Dutch artist Cornelius Le-Mair. In 1989 he gained a diploma of ‘Master Artist in Still Life’ from the Academy of Fine Arts, Antwerp, Belgium.
With his family in 1973 he immigrated to New Zealand and later in 1986 to Sydney , Australia, now he has retired to northern Queensland.
His work is held in collections internationally.
